A fairytale wedding breakfast and a dramatic evening reception lit by pink, black and coloured lights - complete with a snow-covered winter wonderland - will be among the displays at the first themed wedding showcase at Eastbourne's Grand Hotel.

Eastbourne’s five-star hotel has teamed up with The Theatrical Wedding Company, based in Brighton, for a showcase with a difference on Sunday, March 7th.
Couples, brides-to-be and their families will be able to see suites styled for themed wedding receptions, view the choice of rooms licensed for civil ceremonies and sample wedding menus.
The Theatrical Wedding Company, which can theme receptions from the simple and chic to the fun and flamboyant, will decorate the hotel’s Compton Room for a romantic, traditional wedding breakfast, over flowing flower displays, crystal trees and flower-entwined statues. The Silverdale Room will be themed for a contemporary evening reception and the Princes Room will take on a vintage look with beautiful centre pieces, table design ideas and pillars entwined with ivy and the Jevington Room will be transformed into a gentlemen’s club and gaming lounge.
Throughout the wedding showcase, which is open from 10am to 4pm, there will be personal show rounds with the hotel’s team of dedicated wedding co-ordinators and couples will be able to talk to key local wedding suppliers, who can help with cakes, photography, transport and everything else needed to make it a day to remember.
The Grand is a fitting venue for wedding receptions and civil ceremonies as it has been described by Which? Hotel Guide inspectors as a “wedding cake of a hotel”.
Grand Hotel General Manager Jonathan Webley said: “We have always organised special showcase events with our rooms and suites set out for weddings, so couples have a real impression of what they look like on the day, and serve samples of food, which is much better than looking at menus.
