Halcyon's Deck Plan
The halcyon's deck is a light and airy location where guests can relax and still be a part of the action, its the central part of the navigation, containing the chart table and the main navigation station.
Steering is from the cockpit which has all navigation and pilotage information relayed to it. The deckhouse can seat guests in a light and airy location close to the action but out of the wind. It is also the central point for navigation, containing the chart table and the main navigation station. Stowed just forward of the Deckhouse is the original clinker sailing dinghy and a more modern RIB both of which are launched by davits. A boarding ladder ensures that getting aboard is a simple and elegant procedure.
Halcyon is a traditional vessel still sailed in the traditional way. With only 2 winches on board, block and tackle is the order of the day. She also has two large Highfield Levers used for the running backstays on the main mast. Up at the bow is a large hydraulic windlass very capable of lifting the 65 kilo anchor.
